DuoDERM CGF Sterile Wound Dressing

ConvaTec's wound dressing, DuoDERM^® CGF^® is a hydrocolloid, moisture-retentive wound dressing used for partial and full-thickness wounds with exudate. It incorporates a unique hydrocolloid formulation that distinguishes it from other hydrocolloid. The DuoDERM^® CGF^® dressing is indicated for use on dermal ulcers including full-thickness wounds, pressure ulcers (Stage II-IV), leg ulcers, superficial wounds, partial thickness burns and donor sites.

A moist wound healing environment will improve wound healing rate, increase growth of epithelial cells (epithelialization), reduce infection, promote collagen synthesis, as well as an earlier appearance of macrophages in the wound bed. 

How do DuoDERM Dressings work?

DuoDerm dressings form a gel when in contact with moisture.  The outer film provides a waterproof barrier over the wound dressing.  The foam layer provides a thermal and mechanical protection for the wound.  The honeycomb matrix of hydrolloid particles will absorb exudate producing a soft, moist gel and this keeps nerve endings moist which gives relief from discomfort.  DuoDERM dressings can be worn nonstop for up to seven days.
