Trio Siltac Silicone Ostomy Seal

Most ostomy seals are composed of hydrocolloid which absorbs moisture and swells around the stoma.  Trio Siltac ostomy seals do not absorb moisture or body waste. They stretch and conform to the stoma without the swelling we see in hydrocolloid rings.

    Trio Siltec Seals

Posted by Sally on 4th Sep 2018

Received a tip from a fellow ileostomate about this company and their revolutionary silicone seals. I ordered some free samples from Trio Ostomy and gave them a try. I have been using Convatec Stomahesive wafers, Convatec pouches and Convatec Stomahesive paste. I have no complaints about my previous pouching regimen as I experience no problems and only change my pouch once a week. I am always on the hunt for revolutionary products. I tried the Trio Siltec seal and it is just that. When I did a pouch change after 8 days, the seal looked the same as the day I put it on as it is silicone and does not absorb fluids. I ordered some more seals from Parthenon who has the best prices out there!!!!! I am now going to experiment past eight days! I would highly recommend getting some free samples and giving this company a try! I also ordered the Trio Pouch extenders and Trio Silken. I will also be submitting a review on these products also.

    The best barrier seal

Posted by Unknown on 17th Jun 2018

I’ve only been using these seals a about a month after getting a few samples first, but already they are far and away the best ones I’ve used. For the first two years having my ileostomy I used Hollister barriers, which were fine but I needed to change the pouch system out every three days or so to feel confident. I keep a watchful eye on my stoma and pouch, and am pretty meticulous in making sure it all stays in great shape, but back then it was hard to let go and not be over-concerned. Then last year I started using the newer Coloplast protective seals, which were even better as they absorb less so I could get 4 days wear our of it. Now with the Siltec I can get 7 days easily, and for the first time feel totally confident that I’ll have no issues, since it doesn’t absorb effluent and naturally resizes for a snug fit. I change it at before 7 days because of pouch wear, not the barrier, and it does help the pouch last longer. So far there has been no effluent seeping underneath the barrier nor touching my peristomal skin whatsoever when I remove it to change pouches. I like having a system in place that allows me to worry less and this is a great improvement upon my previous ones.
