ConvaTec Aquacel Ag wound surgical dressings combine hydrocolloid technology with their Hydrofiber Technology with ionic silver to manage serosanguinous fluid. The cover layer film is polyurethane which makes a viral, waterproof, and bacterial barrier. Ionic silver contributes sustained antimicrobial activity for up to 14 days by in vito studies.

 Post operative protection for surgical wounds. Examples for use include: cardiac implantable devices, sternum, vein harvesting, shoulder, spine, hip fracture, abdomen, caesarean section, and hip.
