How to care for a Cunningham Clamp:  After repeated usage and proper maintenance (see washing instructions), inspect the product for signs of deterioration or damage (cracking, discoloration, separation of foam). The clamp should be replaced every 3 months, or sooner if the foam deteriorates.

How To Use Bard's Cunningham Clamp For Urinary Incontinence

Use Cunningham Clamps For: The effective control of enuresis (bed wetting) in males of all ages.

1. A very light pressure on the urethral canal on the underside of the penis will prevent any leakage.
2. The necessary pressure is achieved by the hump in the under part of the Cunningham Clamp.
3. For proper fit and comfort the upper part of the clamp can be easily shaped by the fingers.
4. Exact adjustment of pressure is achieved by the ratchet catch on the regular and large sizes.  To release the catch, merely press inward on both the spring wire loops. 
5. Be sure the clamp is not set so tight that it will interfere with the blood circulation.
6. Washing instructions:

a. Wash with a mild soap in warm water.
b. Rinse thoroughly in cool clean water.
c. Gently squeeze foam to discharge excess water.
d. Let unit air dry in cool environment away from excess heat or direct sunlight.
e. Do not use bleach detergent, hot water, washer/dryer or blowdryer.

What is a Cunningham Clamp?

The Cunningham Clamp is a hinged, stainless steel frame supporting two foam rubber pads and a locking device.  To use the Cunningham Clamp, the user places the penis between the two foam pads and the hinged clamp is squeezed shut. Used to control stress incontinence or dribbling of urine. It is constructed of soft sponge rubber and can be adjusted to fit comfortably. Size by penis circumference.

• Cunningham Clamp is reusable and non sterile.

• The lower foam pad on the Cunningham Clamp has an inverted "V" which presses against the underside of the penis exerting a closing pressure on the urethra, which is close to the bottom of the penis.

• The clamping mechanism has five separate settings to control male incontinence.

• This permits the user to achieve the proper amount of pressure with the Cunningham Clamp to prevent urine leakage without discomfort.
