Description

SeaSorb Soft Biatain Alginate Wound Dressing is a highly absorbent wound dressing composed of alginate and hydrocolloid (sodium carboxymethyl-cellulose). SeaSorb Soft Biatain Alginate Wound Dressing is easy to apply. On contact with wound exudate it converts to a soft cohesive gel which provides the optimal moist wound healing environment.  The gell allows atraumatic removal of the SeaSorb Soft Biatain Alginate Wound Dressing.

Indications

SeaSorb Soft Biatain Alginate Wound Dressing is indicated for the management of moderate to heavily exuding wounds including leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers and second degree burns.  It can be used for cavity wounds too.

Directions For Use

Rinse the wound with a wound cleanser or normal saline. Gently dry the skin around the wound.

When SeaSorb Soft Biatain Alginate Wound Dressing is saturated with exudate, it needs to be changed. As granulation tissue occurs, exudation decreases and fewer dressing changes will be required.  Dressing change may be required every day for the first few days.  SeaSorb Soft Biatain Alginate Wound Dressing should not be left on for more than 7 days.  When exudate levels have decreased, SeaSorb Soft Biatain Alginate Wound Dressing may be discontinued and replaced by a suitable dressing to ensure continuation of wound healing.
