Here are the big events related to the ostomy industry!

  1. June 2015 -- WOCN 2015 47th annual conference being held in San Antionio, Texas from June 6 to June 10, 2015.  This meeting is for wound, ostomy, and continence nurses and industry representatives and is a great way to network and meet people. Companies like Nu-Hope, Coloplast, ConvaTec, Hollister, 3M, Smith&Nephew and more will be represented.  Nurses can attend WOCN certification review courses focused on wounds, continence, and ostomy.  Great Comebacks® will present their national awards to recognize the achievements of people  who've overcome Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, colorectal cancer, and other conditions leading to ostomy surgery.  Also, caregivers receive honors for the critical role they play.  There is also an exhibit hall to learn about new products and events related.  This is just a sampling of what will be offered so check out the WOCN link here to find out more!
  2. Sept 1-6, 2015 -- The UOAA 5th National Conference in St. Louis, MO from September 1-6, 2015.  The United Ostomy Associations of America hosts this event with focus on the end user.  The opportunities at this event are enormous to learn more about your stoma and how to care for it.  Reps from manufacturers will be there and there will be clinics for youth and socials to make acquaintances.  This is also a great event to attend.  This event is held every other year so if you miss this one it will be a while until the next one comes around.
  3. Friday, October 30, 2015 -- Utah Valley Regional Medical Center 7th Annual Wound Care Conference.  The course director is Annette Gwilliam, RN,BSN,CWS, ACHRN and the purpose of the event is to improve the knowledge and skill level of healthcare providers in would, ostomy, and continence care. Those in attendance will include registered nurses, WOC nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and medical assistants. The event special guest will be Dorothy Doughty, MN,RN,CWOCN, CFCN, FAAN and she will be discussing the state of wound care and what the future holds for wound care.
