Frequently Asked Questions

What Is StomaDome Used For?

  • StomaDome is a molded polypropylene guard for your stoma. It is waterproof, reusable, and will keep your stoma shielded from things like a seatbelt, countertops and anything else that can harm a stoma.

How Do I Use StomaDome?

  • To apply the StomaDome Stoma Guard, begin by affixing it onto a Velcro Crescent. Carefully detach the Velcro Crescent from its backing and affix the adhesive side onto the pouch, ensuring optimal protection for the stoma. Exercise caution during this process, as the adhesive is robust and may require several attempts to become comfortable with handling the StomaDome. Once attached, the StomaDome can be easily removed and reattached at will. Another method involves positioning the Velcro Crescent onto the pouch before securing it, ensuring a secure placement by applying gentle pressure, preferably on a hard surface like a table. Note that in some instances, separating the Velcro Crescent from its backing may prove challenging. In such cases, applying heat by rubbing the backing for 10 to 20 seconds or using a blow dryer can facilitate the process.
